The DAUS Alumni Organisation has been operating since 1998 and today it has 835 students. Its goal is to keep DAUS alumni linked in order to strengthen the network of people who are or will be participating in social, political and economic life of Serbia.

The quality of BOS programmes, knowledge and skills students acquire during their education in BOS are an exceptional recommendation for prosperous careers in various sectors. DAUS alumni can be found in academia, enterprises, banks, government, non-governmental organisations and political parties.

It is just the fact that students who attended the lectures in Belgrade Open School stands for the extraordinary recommendation for this young people, so BOS students find the employment in an easier manner, despite the difficult economic conditions of present Serbian situation.

School diploma certifies that the person who owns it has extraordinary intellectual capacities, and is open, inquisitive, with democratic political orientation, capable of dealing with challenges of society in transition and capable of studying about changes in the environment.

After the democratic changes in the country, a significant number of BOS alumni (13%) contribute to the development and reform of Serbian society by working in ministries, state institutions, courts and embassies. Currently, former BOS students, members of Alumni organisation, work in Ministry of foreign affairs, Ministry of economy and regional development, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth and Sport, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Privatization Agency, Agency for promotion of state management, National Bank, embassies, court and other institutions of state management. At the same time, national coordinator of Pact for stability of South-eastern Europe is BOS alumni.

A significant number of BOS alumni (31%) are among activists of NGOs and political parties. Some were especially active during presidential campaign in 2000.

By establishment of democratic government in the state, a number of BOS alumni started working in state management. Specific numbers of these participate in local government, and one student is a councillor in the City management. After the graduation in BOS, some students decided to start their NGOs, which is understandable when you consider the fact that the school mission is to become active members of the society.

At the same time, BOS alumni work in international organizations, as Organization for European security and cooperation, International tribunal for war crimes in Hague, World Bank, Regional ecological centre, etc.

The greatest number of BOS alumni (34%) work in business centre. They are employed in leading banks, consultancy companies, broker companies, pharmaceutical industry, construction building, publishing houses, and lawyer companies. BOS alumni work in many international companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, McKinsy&Co, Microfinance Bank, Societe General Bank, Hypo Alpe Adria Bank, Reiffaisen Bank, DELTA Corporation, British American Tobacco. Some have started companies of their own that are among the leading in the market.

A significant number of BOS alumni (12%) lecture at the university and work as associates of science institutes. This is not a surprising fact, since they were among most talented students in their generation. They are in the position to use different methods of work and teaching, influence development and advancement of universities. BOS students are teaching assistants, PhD. students and professors at Faculty of Economy, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Electric Engineering, Faculty of Mining and Geology and Faculty of Sport and Training.

At this moment, 6% of alumni are at their MA studies. Until this moment 30,3% of alumni graduated from MA studies, and 10% graduated at universities abroad.

A significant number of alumni are Ron Brown scholarships winners that have finished their MA studies in the USA, as some others finished MA in UK (Cambridge, Oxford, Birmingham), Italy (European university in Florence, University in Bologna), Hungary (Central European University), Belgium (European college in Bruges), the Netherlands, Sweden, Austria, Germany. After the graduation at MA studies, they come back to their country and teach at universities or work in state management and business sector.

A number of students of 12th and 13th generation are currently in the process of graduating from undergraduate studies at university. Belgrade Open School has currently enrolled the 15th generation of students. They will start their careers soon enough and become members of Alumni organization.

With organization of Alumni organization, Belgrade Open School fulfils its mission – investing in human resources and creating the network of young educated leaders that will occupy the important positions in various sectors of society and in that way shape the process to democracy and market economy.
